The journey towards making your first million pounds begins with a deep passion for Business Studies. On this course, you will focus on problem-solving and making business decisions.

In your first year, you will learn how businesses are started and how they operate. You will look at real-world business news and case studies to develop your understanding of the challenges and issues they face.

In the second year, you will consider larger businesses and the strategies they use to succeed. You will study how political, legal, social and technological factors affect businesses and how you can make a business successful, even during the most difficult times.

Course Information


At least five GCSEs at grades 9-4 in one sitting. An average GCSE score of 5 or more is preferred. GCSE English and Maths at grade 4.


There are three externally examined papers at the end of the two-year course. Paper 1 (Marketing, People and Global Businesses) is worth 35% of the A Level, Paper 2 (Business Activities, Decisions and Strategy) is worth 35%, and Paper 3 (Investigating Business in a Competitive Environment) is worth 30%. There is no coursework component.

This course is 100% theory-based. There are no written examinations or coursework. 


You can progress to an apprenticeship or university to study your chosen field from a range of subjects, such as accountancy, finance, marketing, human resources management, leisure and tourism, or business management.

The skills, knowledge and commercial awareness you acquire will prepare you for a career in accountancy, project management, retail and operations management, human resources management, marketing and many other areas.


We offer tours to London’s business hub, including the Bank of England, the Financial District, the Houses of Parliament, Wembley Stadium and more.

This course includes opportunities for work placements, job shadowing and virtual business experiences.

You will get the chance to interact with guest speakers who have experience working as business leaders, bank ambassadors, financial and business experts, economists, entrepreneurs, business journalists, salespeople, investment analysts, university lecturers, estate agents and managers.
